The proposal for the house in Igatpuri was for a 3/4 BHK - 2 storey vacation house, which could accommodate about 9-12 people. The brief from the client was quite open and gave us the freedom to play around with the spaces in the house. The building was imagined as layers of spaces unfolding from the time one enters the compound till one sees the large panoramic opening of the garden with the pool. Being situated in a region with heavy rainfall, the building has a sloping roof with pleasant ways in which the water is harvested and used a landscape feature in the design. The project later on was halted due to the Covid-19 complications.
